Nearly two decades ago I started as an intern in the State Controller’s Office and with hard work and honest dealings ultimately became your State Controller. I’m committed to being fiscally responsible, making our government more transparent, and ensuring every cent of your tax dollars is accounted for in accordance with the law.
As your State Controller, I’m the chief financial officer for the State of Idaho, which means that I’m responsible for paying all of the state’s bills, processing payroll for more than 24,000 state employees, and maintaining Idaho’s centralized financial management reporting and accounting systems.
To meet my statutory and constitutional duties, my office is divided into three operating divisions and one support division. All together, we employ about ninety individuals with about half of them working in our Computer Services division and the remaining split among the Accounting, Payroll and Administration divisions.
It’s critical that your Controller be committed to following the precise letter of the law, have experience managing complex financial systems, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to customer service and government transparency, and have proven experience managing a professional accounting, payroll and IT workforce. Thank you for entrusting me with this great responsibility. I’m honored to serve you as Idaho’s chief financial officer and State Controller.
